If you asked Paul a few years ago if he’d be standing in a rural Mpumalanga field checking on a crop of freshly planted hops, he probably would have laughed. But life has a beautiful way of changing tracks, and now Paul focuses every ounce of his precision engineering background into an entirely different kind of mechanics: the art of the perfect pour.

From setting up the custom tanks in the taproom himself to nurturing our own nearby hop fields, Paul manages the entire end-to-end brewing process. There are no corporate shortcuts or pretentious additive checklists here. Just high-quality ingredients, local passion, and meticulous patience packed into every single keg.

Engineered for the Platteland.

Brewed for the Thirsty.

HERE IS A TASTE OF WHAT PAUL IS CRANKING OUT OF THE TANKS THIS WEEK:

BECAUSE NOBODY READS THE FINE PRINT WHEN THEY'RE THIRSTY.

The Engineers Lager

Crisp, flawlessly balanced, and perfectly structured. It’s clean, unpretentious, and exactly what you crave after a long weekend drive from the city.

The Platteland Pale Ale

A golden, aromatic tribute to our new home. Infused with floral notes that pair beautifully with a lazy afternoon on the stoep watching the Wakkerstroom mist roll in.

The Midnight Porter

It's dark, complex, and unapologetically bold, with smooth coffee and chocolate undertones that make this the ultimate winter warmer when the famous Mpumalanga frost settles over the grasslands.

The

Red Bishop

Ale

Rich, malty, and slightly cheeky. It offers a beautiful, deep amber hue and a smooth, tactile finish that makes it a local favourite across town.

The Wakkerstroom Weiss

Light, cloudy, and effortlessly refreshing. It’s unpretentious, silky smooth, and built specifically for those long, lazy Mpumalanga afternoons on the stoep when one pint leads to another.

The Cracking Cider

This craft cider delivers a clean, dry finish that cuts through the heat like a cool Wakkerstroom breeze. It's wildly drinkable, pleasantly fruity, and the ultimate crisp alternative when you want a break from the hop tanks.
